Capture precious newborn at convenience of your home

Relax in the comfort of your own home whilst I come to you to capture your family’s life-milestones with natural and timeless photography. Avoid the traffic, crowds and bad weather. Stay at home where you’ve got everything you need.

Your home serves as the perfect backdrop for this special session, making for a relaxed, enjoyable and natural experience. Capture your precious baby and bring the whole family together in a unique and memorable way.

In-home baby photography sessions will run up to 2 hours. We can use your own wraps and blankets, or you can choose from a selection of mine. I also have beautiful knitted rompers and bloomers in neutral colours and natural fibres.

My style is gentle and relaxed, capturing sweet moments with plenty of guidance. Your baby is perfect just the way they are. I only pose babies in ways they feel natural and comfortable.

The ideal time for a newborn photoshoot is when your baby is between 5 and 14 days old, they are usually sleepy and very flexible. However, first 6 weeks of having a newborn baby in your home is generally a good time to capture those special memories and cute tiny details.

Frequently Asked Questions

1. When is the best time to book?

Advanced booking is highly recommended. You can get in touch after your 12-week scan. So, with your due date in mind we can discuss the details and book the most suitable date for the shoot.

The ideal time for a newborn photoshoot is when your baby is between 5 and 14 days old, they are usually sleepy and very flexible. However, first 6 weeks of having a newborn baby in your home is generally a good time to capture those special memories and cute tiny details.

2. Why is your home the best location?

Your home is where your family journey begins, it’s a place of love where you will make memories together for years to come. Working on-site, I get to capture you in a space where you feel most comfortable, that’s when the magic begins.

Bonus, there’s no traffic for you to beat, no car to park and no mid-trip stops to feed.

3. How long is the newborn photoshoot?

It usually takes around 2 hours to photograph a newborn baby if they are sleepy.

On the day of your session, I take a look around to find the best light within your space. With a few of my styling pieces in hand, I will bring together a scene that feels natural and authentic.

My goal is to make sure your tiny newborn will be photographed in a way that captures their pure perfection. No fancy props or distractions, just your baby in their own bassinet, on your bed, on my bean bag, or snuggled up with you on the couch.

In-home newborn photography is a multi-generational gift; it will bring back the memories and emotions when you look at the photos in years to come, and remind your child how loved they were, especially in their very first few weeks. It’s truly the gift that keeps giving.

4. Who can be included in the photoshoot?

As with all my photography, your session is designed to be a family experience and I will invite you to be involved along with any siblings. This is a time to treasure as a family.

5. How do you pose babies?

My idea of a newborn session is to capture your baby where they feel safest… in your arms. Thats where your baby will stay for majority of your session.

I do not use props during the session (except for my bean bag) and like to think of your loving arms are the only props I need. We will document natural moments between you and your baby as a mother, a father, a sibling and a family.

Your baby is perfect just the way he/she is. I don’t pose babies in ways they wouldn’t naturally be. We can use your own wraps and blankets, or we will choose from a selection of mine.

I learned from the best newborn photographers in Australia like Sophie Lea, Kelly Brown and Linzie Russo, so you are in safe hands with me.

6. What to wear?

1. I have gorgeous blankets, wraps and luxury knitwear pieces for your newborn that are available for use within your session, all included in your package.

2. I find that long, and flowy dresses/skirts are best to photograph because they provide movement during sessions and are not too tight. Dads and sons tend to be simpler to style as they have fewer options – shirt/t-shirt, shorts or trousers – easy.

3. When it comes to colours and patterns, neutrals are the best. You can’t go wrong with beige and white. Light-coloured clothing work as a natural reflector bringing additional soft light to the baby.

I suggest neutral colours like cream and white for men tops as well, blues, and browns for bottoms.

4. Avoid items with distracting images or large logos; the attention should be on you, not the clothes. Also, it’s a good idea to stay away from fluro colours as they will reflect an unflattering shade on the face.

5. Consider renting a beautiful dress for your session, you can do so via www.mamarentals.com.au They are offering 15% off to my clients.
